Which Beauty Tribe Are You?

What with this being a real-time blog and all, I’m not quite ready to crack open the spring trends just yet. But until that heady day, here’s something rather lovely I heard this afternoon from MAC’s Director Of Make-Up Artistry Terry Barber, who apparently spent the last run of shows observing the fashion tribes at play and wondering who their beauty counterparts might be. Here’s what he came up with…

Chloé

The New Bohemian…

Honey-skinned and clad in Chloé she’s the old school hippie turned modern-day nomad. Hunting down? The perfect bronzer, a rock ‘n’ roll lash and anything creamy, dewy and balm-like. In her head? The Rolling Stones on repeat.

She’ll love… MAC Cream Colour Base in Improper Copper (£13) and Diorshow Blackout Mascara (£21.50)

YSL

The Neo Classicist…

Worships at the shrine of YSL with an eye on Tom Ford and a yen for Chanel. With her perfect red lip, clump-free mascara and elegantly angled brow she’s fully prepped for Studio 54 at all times.

She’ll love… Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Colour in Cherry Lush (£35) and Chanel Sculpte Sourcils (£16.50)

Miu Miu

The Quirky Colour Girl…

In Erdem, Marni and Miu Miu, she swoons over an art-deco palette of chalky lilac, mint green and sky blue and eschews gloss for retro-yet-modern matte. She dreams of velvet-smooth powders in sorbet shades, to a rolling soundtrack of Ray Davies.

She’ll love… Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Creme Matte Lipstick (£19.50) and Revlon Luxurious Color Matte Eyeshadow in Luscious Lime (£5.29)

Dries

The Nude…

Dressed in Dries Van Noten, she hates the idea of wearing make-up but still does. Prefers primers to foundation but deep-down her heart belongs to her skincare…or maybe a tinted moisturiser.

She’ll love… MAC Strobe Liquid (£21) and Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser (£52)
